Costumed children looking for treats will have plenty of options to celebrate Halloween in Habersham County.
The town of Mt. Airy and Mt. Airy Baptist Church will host a Trunk or Treat 5-7 p.m. Saturday at city hall, 1231 Dicks Hill Pkwy. For details, call 706-778-6990.
Halloween on Monday is the time for gathering treats everywhere else in the county.
Cornelia will have trick-or-treating at downtown businesses 3-6 p.m. on Halloween.
Clarkesville businesses will have treats for Trick or Treat Downtown from 5-7 p.m. The event will feature a costume contest on the square starting at 6 p.m. for those 0-3 years old, at 6:15 p.m. for those 3-8 years, at 6:30 p.m. for those 8-12 years and at 6:45 p.m. for pets. Photos will be provided throughout the event by North Georgia Technical College photography students, who will be stationed just off the square on Washington Street, across from The Attic.
Demorest will host Tricks and Treats 5-8 p.m. downtown. The event will include magic, music, food vendors and bounce houses. For details, call 706-778-4202.
The Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center will host a Trunk or Treat 5:30-7 p.m. on the Sautee Nacoochee Center Lawn, 283 Highway 255 North. The free event will start with costumed children collecting treats, then conclude with a costume contest at 6:30 p.m. Those wishing to distribute candy from their trunk are asked to contact Kat Stratton at volunteer@snca.org. Adults also have a Halloween costume ball just for them to dress up and celebrate.
The Habersham Chamber of Commerce with the Young Professionals Group will present the ChamBoo Bash 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Grant Street Music Room in Clarkesville. Tickets for the event are $15 for chamber members and $20 for non-members. The event will include creepy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar with spooky drink specials, a live D.J. and costume contest with prizes. For tickets, visit habershamchamber.com.
