Summer reading program

Volunteers for Literacy (VFL) gave more than 500 books to children through their Summer Reading Program at Habersham County Schools’ Summer Meals Program on June 14. Each child was given five new or gently used books to keep at Cornelia and Demorest Elementary Schools and at Whispering Woods and Meadowbrook Laundromats. VFL also will be giving away books to children at the same locations on July 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
