Denise Wade, 27, of Alto was charged with vehicular homicide almost a year after she was the driver in an accident that killed two of her family members.
Wade was arrested by Georgia State Patrol on charges of failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign and two counts of homicide by vehicle (second degree) in the deaths of Lincoln Burgess and Cynthenia Wade.
Denise Wade was driving a Toyota Matrix on Oct. 29, 2021, attempting to cross Highway 365 from Mt. Zion Road, while an E150 van was traveling southbound. The Toyota failed to yield, GSP said, and caused the crash.
Cynthenia Wade and 5-year-old Burgess did not survive the crash. Passengers Jessica Burgess along with an infant did survive and were treated at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
