Baldwin council race contested, sole candidate for school board
Qualifying for the open seats on Baldwin City Council and the Habersham County Board of Education ended on Friday.
Baldwin City Council will see a contested race for the Post 2 seat with city residents Nancy Lehman and Mark Mullinax qualifying.
Darlene Hudson, current interim school board member, was the only candidate to qualify for the board of education's open District 4 seat. This makes her the presumptive board member, and the special election will be canceled after the write-in qualifying time frame has ended.
The Baldwin special election will coincide with the presidential election on Nov. 5. The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 7.
