Clarkesville takes home national award for ‘Rising from the Ashes’

  • The University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG), J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development and the New Materials Institute, which respectively competed under the place, talent and innovation categories, collectively received the Judge’s Award at the University Economic Development Association’s Annual Summit. CVIOG received the award, along with the city of Clarkesville, for their work to redevelop the downtown square after a devastating fire in 2014.
