A crash at the intersection of Georgia Highway 15/U.S. 441 and Antioch Church Road near Clarkesville on Monday morning sent three people to the hospital.
A Kia Soul driven by Michelle Norfleet, 66, of Franklin, N.C., was traveling north on Georgia 15 when a Pontiac Vibe driven by Kellie Turley, 51, of Sautee Nacoochee failed to yield while coming through the intersection.
The Kia swerved to try and avoid the crash but was hit by the front of the Pontiac, causing it to veer off the road into a stop sign and a yield sign. The Pontiac rotated counterclockwise and came to rest in the middle of Highway 15, the Georgia State Patrol said.
Turley was cited for failure to yield and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with injuries.
Norfleet and passenger Tammy Oates, 61, also were transported to NEGA with injuries.
