Habersham County Community Paramedics Hope Adams and Jim Wood recently received the Georgia Emergency Communications Conference (GECC) Award of Excellence.
The GECC Award of Excellence is presented to those not employed within a Communications Center to recognize their outstanding service dedication to continued improvements to the agency. The Habersham County E-911 staff nominated Adams and Wood.
This may be awarded to a vendor, advisor, or any other support position that has worked to strengthen public awareness and support of emergency communications and 911.
The Habersham County Community Paramedics’ primary role is to provide home visits to the underserved who have chronic illnesses such as congestive heart failure, mental disorders, lung disease, and diabetes to help them comply with their prescribed treatment plans.
The Community Paramedicine program began in April 2017, and Adams and Wood have been with the program since it was created.
