Habersham Medical Center now treating COVID-19 patient

The Georgia Department of Health still reported just two Habersham County residents as testing positive for COVID-19 as of its noon Saturday update, and one of them is now receiving treatment at Habersham Medical Center.

HMC had done 41 tests as of Thursday evening and was waiting for six of those to come back with results. There were three positive tests among that group – the first to test positive at the facility – including one non-Habersham resident, one Habersham resident who was tested at Northeast Georgia Health Center and the third who is being treated at the hospital.

As of noon Saturday, Georgia had 6,160 reported positive cases with 1,239 hospitalized and 201 deaths (3.26%).
