A Gainesville man has been charged with 11 criminal offenses in connection with an illicit relationship involving a girl under the age of 16.

Following an investigation that began at the end of last month, Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Christopher Brennen Young, 23, on July 6 at a residence on Bogus Road.

Investigators determined Young met his victim while he was employed as a substitute teacher at East Hall High School. The investigation found evidence that Young sexually assaulted the teen and took videos of the sexual activity on his cell phone. The reported assaults did not occur on school property.

Young faces charges of aggravated sexual battery (2 counts), aggravated sodomy (1 counts), aggravated child molestation (2 counts), and violation of Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act of 1999 (6 counts).

Depending on forensic testing of electronic devices seized from the suspect’s residence, Young could face additional criminal charges.

Young remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond.

In another case, Hall County investigators initially arrested Allyn Michael Hirsch, 38, of Perry on June 30 and charged him with enticing a child for indecent purposes. During the investigation, authorities found evidence that led them to also charge Hirsch with aggravated sexual battery, child molestation and two counts of violation of the Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act 1999.

The victim in the case is a girl under the age of 16.

The investigation determined Hirsch moved to the area for a job, and investigators believe he met the victim at his place of employment. The investigation also found Hirsch possibly assaulted the girl in other jurisdictions in addition to Hall County. As the investigation moves forward, information gathered by Hall County authorities will be shared with investigators in those jurisdictions.
