A new church in Clarkesville is hoping to make an impact in the local community.
Latter Rains Congregational Holiness Church began offering services in June of this year. Originally offering services from their home, the two pastors, John and Amanda Anderson, quickly realized they needed more space if they wanted to continue to be able to grow.
Moving into a shop area was what was available, and according to Amanda, “We have humble beginnings that we are very proud of because it is proof that God can do a lot with a little.”
The church does not follow traditional church standards, instead following the motto, “Come do church a different way.”
“We believe it is possible to get back to the roots of the early Christian church. We put God first, follow Jesus, learn from the Holy Spirit, and make building community a top priority,” Amanda said.
The church is located at 173 Wall’s Complex Circle in Clarkesville. Using two storefronts as the home of their operations, one is used for adult ministry while the other is for children’s ministry.
“We put God first, follow Jesus, learn from the Holy Spirit, and make building community a top priority. When you walk through the doors of Latter Rains Church, you will feel like you’re coming into someone’s home, and you will leave as part of our family,” Amanda said.
Services begin at 11:45 a.m. Sundays and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.
