After serving in the interim role for almost four months, the Habersham Board of County Commissioners decided to name Tim Sims its new county manager, effective immediately, at the conclusion of Monday night's regular meeting.
"I'm very humbled the county commissioners entrusted me in this position," Sims said after the meeting.
Sims was announced as one of three finalists for the position on March 26, and assumed the interim role on Dec. 28.
Sims has served the county as its chief financial officer for four years, and previously worked for Hall County’s government in various financial department roles.
He has worked in county government for over 26 years.
