St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Cleveland will again hold its Fall Festival on the church grounds starting at 10 a.m. and extending until 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.
Beginning in 1974, the Fall Festival continues to grow with new features and many surprises. This year Spirit Fiber Works will bring alpacas, llamas, sheep and angorra goats. Josh Turner, the mayor of Cleveland, will appear at approximately 10 a.m.and readings by Jan Walker, children’s author and illustrator, are planned. A fire truck will be on the grounds from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The day will include live music and entertainment including the Kazadores, Yonah Pickers, bluegrass music, and various dance groups. Lyle Lammers, Kirk Broom and Lisa Deaton will entertain with their band music beginning at noon. 30 children of the Mt. Yonah Elementary School chorus will perform at 1 p.m.
A variety of booths offer several activities including a silent auction, jewelry booth and bake sale. You can join in the raffle for your chances to win $500, $400 or $300.
Also you will enjoy hay rides, tombola, soccer kick, wine bottle ring toss, ducky pick, bean bag toss and other kids games, face painting, a make over booth featuring crazy hair and fancy nails, plush toy booth, photo booth, soccer kick, a plant and flower sale, a fall gardening demo, cell phone scavenger hunt and children will have fun in the inflatable bounce house.
A quick drawing contest for teens and adults is planned. Of special interest will be the mechanical bull rides in which Father Fabio, St. Paul parishioners and visitors will vie for the title of favorite bull rider.
When you are ready for lunch you may choose from delicious Hispanic and American homemade food booths offering a large variety of foods and beverages to purchase.
