Superintendent touts Habersham schools' accomplishments

  • Robin Coker, custodian at Woodville Elementary, received Habersham County Schools’ Service Above Self award for January at Monday night’s school board meeting. Coker’s colleagues praised her for “taking great pride in keeping Woodville Elementary in tip-top shape,” as well as being “wonderful with the students” and having a positive attitude every day. The award is presented by the Clarkesville Rotary Club, and she received her award from school board member Dr. Robert Barron.

  • Laura Traudt, second grade teacher at Level Grove Elementary, received Habersham County Schools’ Extra Mile Award for January at Monday’s school board meeting. Traudt oversees the school’s garden team. Principal Darlene Hudson said Traudt “trains and works with our teachers to integrate standards-based instruction using the garden to allow students hands-on experiences and college/career exposure.” Traudt received her award from school board member John Elger.
