Tim Stamey earned 57 percent of the vote Tuesday to defeat Darrin Johnston for the fifth vacant Habersham County Commission seat, according to unofficial results released by the Habersham County Elections Office.
Voter turnout was a paltry 8 percent for the rare December runoff, Stamey maintained a solid advantage in both early voting and at the polls Tuesday.
The election will be certified Friday afternoon.
