Due to forecasts of inclement weather on Halloween, cities are making decisions on whether or not to cancel their annual events. The following are the latest updates as of The Northeast Georgian’s press deadline.
CORNELIA
The city of Cornelia announced on Wednesday morning that they have decided to cancel Downtown Trick-or-Treat due to the potential for severe weather.
DEMOREST
The city of Demorest has made the decision to cancel its annual Halloween celebration on Thursday. Trick-or-treaters can still visit City Hall for a Halloween goodies as the drive through window will be open as well from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m at 546 Georgia St.
CLARKESVILLE
The city of Clarkesville will make a decision at noon on Thursday on whether or not to continue the Trick or Treat event for downtown Clarkesville according to their Facebook post. However, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon that the costume contest part of the event will be canceled. Check the city’s Facebook page for updates.
TALLULAH GORGE STATE PARK
The annual Trunk or Treat event is still slated for 5:30 p.m.- 7 p.m. however, officials have said if rain occurs then the event will be canceled. Those with further questions can call 706-754-7981.
