Who's qualified for local office

   As qualifying for local office wrapped up at noon on Friday, former Demorest Police Chief Robin Krockum remains the sole candidate for sheriff. 

Commission

   All three commission races are contested this year. District 1 incumbent Bruce Palmer will vie against Charles Holbrooks and Kelly Woodall. District 4’s Bruce Harkness has Wade Rhodes competing for the seat, and District 5’s Ty Akins will run for reelection against Locke Arnold and Gisela McGugan. 

Board of Education

   District 1 School Board Member Doug Westmoreland will run for reelection with one opponent, Brett Barden. District 2’s Robert Barron will run against Ernie Garrett.

Solicitor - Jessica Martin

Probate Judge - Pamela Wooley

Clerk of Superior Court - David Wall

Tax Commissioner - Amanda Black-Warren

Coroner - Kasey McEntire
