Clarkesville Baptist Church veterans tribute
Clarkesville Baptist Church will host a tribute to all veterans on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 10:30 a.m. The Troy Burns Family will sing during the worship service. Everyone is invited to come out and support our veterans and the community.

Northeast Georgia CASA’s Jingle Jog
Joggers, families, children and lovers of all things Christmas, register for NE GA CASA’s “Jingle Jog” on Friday, Dec. 10 and come enjoy pizza, hot chocolate, sugar cookies and time with Santa after a one or two mile run/jog. The event begins at the Habersham Recreation Center/Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarkesville with a “Little Elf Family Jog” at 6:30 p.m. and the 2 mile “Jingle Jog” at 7:00 p.m. The Little Elf jog is just $5 per person or a family rate of $25 for 5 or more people. The 2 mile Jingle Jog is $20 per person and is part of the Black Bag Race Series, as well as a Clover Glove event that you may participate in virtually. Habersham County Canning Plant open
The Habersham County Canning Plant, located at 901 Fairview School Rd. in Demorest is now open for members of the community to come and process their foods in small and large quantities. Hours of operation are Monday from 7 a.m. to noon, Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 7 a.m. to noon. Glass jars are $0.35 per jar. Cans are $0.90 per can. Customers must provide their own jars, but cans are provided by the plant. Customers are asked not to enter the facility if they are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. Northeast Georgia CASA seeking volunteers
Northeast Georgia CASA is seeking volunteers to become trained Court Appointed Special Advocates for children. Children in foster care that have a CASA are more likely to succeed in school, receive more services, and are less likely to return to foster care. CASA’s help children get into a permanent home more quickly. There are 293 children in northeast Georgia that still need a CASA.
