A memorial service for Alexander Richard Sinclair, 78, of Ball Ground, will be held at a later date.

Mr. Sinclair died Thursday, May 27, 2021, in the company of his children.

Born Jan. 9, 1943, in Camden, New Jersey, Al, as he was known to those who loved him, was the son of the late Alexander and Florence Sinclair.

Al was a longtime English and drama teacher in the Freehold, (New Jersey) Regional High School District, including being part of the inaugural faculties at Marlboro and Colts Neck High Schools. He was a counselor at Happy Time Day Camp (later a YMCA) in Millstone, New Jersey.

Al loved musical theater and enjoyed conversing brilliantly on nearly any topic. He directed many stage productions through more than three decades as an educator. He took great pride as a 73-year resident of the Garden State, and he loved the beautiful Jersey Shore.

He is survived by his three children, daughter, Samantha Sinclair (Matthew Osborne) of Clarkesville; daughter, Kristine Marinello (Jarrod Marinello) of Roswell; and son, Stephen Sinclair (Jenny Peterson) of Omaha, Nebraska; along with six grandchildren, Hunter, Callum and Oliver Osborne of Clarkesville; and Dylan, Charlize and Keaton Marinello of Roswell.
