A funeral service for Andy Lee Kastner, 63, of the Wildcat Community, was held Tuesday Nov. 2, in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home with the Rev. Joey Thompson and Kyle Watts officiating. Burial followed in the Roane Cemetery.
Mr. Kastner passed away Oct. 30, 2021.
Born in Petersburg, Virginia, he was the son of J.A. Kastner and Joyce Burrell Kastner. Andy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Verner and Connie LaPrade Kastner, and Dick and Bertha Gragg Burrell.
Andy was a graduate of Rabun County High School class of 1976. After high school he attended Southern Tech and earned a degree in Civil Engineering. In his professional career he worked for CW Matthews Construction, J Allen Long Construction and North East Georgia Heat and Air. He was an avid reader, outdoorsman and enjoyed people.
In addition to his parents he is survived by one son, Phillip Kastner Arnold of New York; two stepdaughters, Bridget Davis, and Eileen Johnson; two sisters, Brenda Kastner Speed (Wesley) of Clarkesville, and Kathi Kastner Kesler (Shawn) of Mt. Airy; and a number of nieces and nephews and aunts and uncle also survive.
In lieu of flowers memorial donation be made to Place of Hope c/o Clayton Baptist Church, 83 South Church St., Clayton.
