A celebration of life service for Barbara Ann Gibson Anderson, 84, of Cornelia, was held Sunday April 11, at First Presbyterian Church of Cornelia with the Rev. Andy Chambers officiating. A private interment was held at Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Anderson passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021.
Born May 20, 1936, in Rabun County, she was a daughter of the late James Carl Gibson and Mary Louise McDowell Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ezekiel Mack "Zeke" Anderson Jr.; brother, Clyde Gibson; sister, Evelyn Gibson.
Mrs. Anderson retired from Johnson & Johnson, formerly, Chicopee Manufacturing, after 42 years of service. Mrs. Anderson was a member and former deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Cornelia, the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post No. 7720, and the Johnson and Johnson Retiree Association. She enjoyed reading, cooking and was well known for her Red Velvet and Italian Cream cakes. She was a loving mother, companion, Mema, sister and friend.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Clete and Mysti Anderson of Mt. Airy; daughter and fiancé, Kathy Anderson and Mark Simmons of Cornelia; loving companion, Claude Hall; grandchildren, Amanda Stewart and her husband, Zane, Kayla Anderson and fiancé, Caleb Tyre, Joshua Shipp, Jared Shipp, Kyndal Anderson and Sebastion Dodd; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Stewart, William Stewart and Connor Stewart, and Elijah Westmoreland; brother and sister-in-law, Larry Harold Bud and Rosemary Gibson of Connecticut; sister and brother-in-law, Delores Boots and Dale Medford of Waynesville, North Carolina; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
