A private graveside for Beatrice M. Cornell, 90, of Cornelia, service will be held at Yonah Memorial Gardens. 

Mrs. Cornell passed away Friday, June 5, 2020.

Born April 20, 1930, in Hampton, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Frank J. and Ruth Dubois Mixon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, John N. Cornell; brothers, Edgar, Sydney and Harold Mixon; sisters, Maude Martin, Luttie C. Canipe, Betty Garner and Ethel Cochran.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Cornell was retired from Bellsouth/AT&T in Atlanta. Following retirement, she and her husband made Cornelia their home and became members of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest. They enjoyed community service and were lifetime members of the Pioneer Clubs and were also members and officers of the local Good Samaritan Club. In their spare time, they enjoyed RV camping.

Survivors include daughter, Theresa R. Crawford and fiancé, Gregory McKeon of Cornelia; grandchildren and spouses, Patrick L. Crawford (Cameron Williams Crawford) of Atlanta, and Emily B. Crawford Das (Bikash Chandra Das) of Athens; numerous nieces and nephews.
