Funeral services for Blanche Evelyn Davis Burns, 85, of Demorest, were held Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with the Rev. Alvin Burns and the Rev. Ray Davis officiating. Interment followed in Hazel Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Burns passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2021.
Born Sept. 29, 1935, in Demorest, Blance was the daughter of the late Norman and Mary Elizabeth Blair Davis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Burns; brothers, Jr. Davis and Wade Davis; sisters, Lucille Martin and Brenda Thurmond.
She was formerly employed with Yonah Realty and was a member of Independent Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and loved her family and friends.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Larry Lee and Frances Burns of Mt. Airy; daughter, Sandra Diane Whitmire of Demorest; grandchildren, Angela Tench (Randy), Tonya Parson (Lee) and Samantha Dills (Allen); five great grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd Davis and Ray Davis both of Demorest; sisters, Vernia Burns and Geneva Gosnell both of Demorest; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
