Catherine Brown Collins

   Memorial services for Catherine Brown Collins, 88, of Alto, will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. Speaker Martin Graham and Pastor Rev. Ricky McFarlin will officiate.

   Mrs. Collins went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

   Born on October 10, 1931, in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late Henry Johnson Brown and Vinnie Cleo Dean Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert Douglas Collins; daughter, Susan Collins Stowe; son-in-law, Buck Oliver; sisters, Jean Brown, Ruth Shedd; brothers, Johnny Brown, Bruce Brown, Jake Brown, and Joe Brown.

   Mrs. Collins was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Toccoa. She was an avid Braves fan and loved to spend time on the lake cat fishing. Catherine was a loving, caring, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

   Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Todd Berry, of Gainesville; Johna and Kenny Blackburn, of Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jeannie Collins, of Cleveland; sisters, Brenda Sprouse, of Leicester, N.C.; Gayle Brown, of Covington; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

   The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the funeral home prior to the service.

   Arrangements have been entrusted to the Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, North Chapel, Demorest.
