Charlene Hanna Bartliff

A graveside service for Charlene Hanna Bartliff, 84, of Peachtree Corners and Demorest, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the V.F.W. Memorial Park Cemetery in Demorest with the Rev. Dondra Davis officiating.

  Mrs. Bartliff went home to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 18, 2020 following an extended illness.

  Born Sept. 15, 1936, in Sardis, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late James Aubrey and Trudy Lee Moore Hanna. In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Clayton Bartliff; brothers, Harold Hanna and Barney Hanna; and grandson, Christopher Brown.

Charlene worked in Human Resources at Safeco Insurance, a Liberty Mutual Company, where she retired after over 20 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed gardening, traveling the world, and hiking. Charlene was a member of the Kingswood United Methodist Church where she volunteered countless hours hosting events that included the Wednesday Night Suppers and the Homeless Ministries. Most of all, she loved her family.

Survivors include her children, Debbie and Dr. Robert Brown of Statham; Mike and Marie Bartliff of Demorest; and Cindy and Avery Poe of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Allison Bartliff, Natalie Bartliff, Lauren Brown, Tyler Brown, and Clayton Brown; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, donate3.cancer.org or to Kingswood United Methodist Church, kingswood.church
