Funeral services for Charles "Charlie" Henry Burrell, 75, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. The Rev. Randall Reed and the Rev. Robert Clark will officiate. Interment will follow at the Turnerville Church of God cemetery.

Mr. Burrell passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022.

Mr. Burrell was born at the Walker Clinic, in Clarkesville, to the late Charlie Burrell and Ester Lee Frady Burrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Burrell Bush.

Charlie was a man with many achievements in his life. He was owner and operator of Gator Logging and loved the outdoors and running his equipment. He was the owner of Gator & Sons Sanitation for 20 years where his customers became more than just customers; they were friends. He also had a passion for selling used cars and owned and operated Burrell's Used Cars and BCB Auto Sales where he also made friends and not just customers. He loved his family, pets, and loved life and lived it to the fullest of his ability with a heart of gold.

Survivors include wife, Dianne Myers Burrell of Clarkesville; sons, Dustin Burrell of Bryson City, North Carolina and Brett Burrell and a special adopted son-in-love, Corey Smith of Demorest; sister, Oma Jean Williams of Mt. Airy; brother, Herman Burrell of Mt Airy; and special friends, Fawn Staton and Abi Dutton of Bryson City, North Carolina.

Also, a very special thank you to all the staff at the Hospice Unit at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from Saturday, Aug. 20, at the funeral home starting at 6 until 9 p.m.
