Funeral services for Charles Edwin Pritchett, 86, of Mount Airy, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Stowe officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Pritchett went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 11, 2022.

Born Dec. 23, 1935, in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Major Lewis and Laura Reese Pritchett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Rosa Lee Partin, Carolyn Holcomb, and Louise Grishkat.

Charles was a graduate of Campbell High School in Smyrna, class of 1954. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps beginning in 1955 as a jet mechanic based in Tustin, California. Charles joined the Georgia Air National Guard in 1975 where he transferred to services for over 18 years. He was activated during Operation Desert Storm for approximately one year and retired as a senior master sergeant in 1994 with a total of 27 years and 8 months of dedicated service. Charles was in sales for many years in the Atlanta area before retiring to the Georgia mountains in 2007. He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and also enjoyed listening to 1950s music. Charles was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Kristina Tomlin Pritchett of Mount Airy; son, Paul Pritchett of Dallas; daughters, Robin Pritchett Jones of Warner Robins and Randi Pritchett Benton of Cartersville; grandchildren, Wesley, Matthew, Tabatha, and Jonathan; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral from noon until the service hour Thursday.
