Graveside services for Charles "Jim" Edward Ivester, 76, of Clarkesville, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Chip Cranford officiating. 

  Mr. Ivester passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021.

  Born Oct. 14, 1944, in Rabun County, Mr. Ivester was the son of the late Auford Ivester Sr. and the late Flora Littleton Ivester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Ivester; brothers, Efford Ivester, John Ivester, Ray Ivester and Henry Ivester; sisters, Ellie Ivester English and Margarette Ivester Smith. 

Mr. Ivester was a self-employed logger and he was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his new great-grandson, River.  

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Gail Free Ivester of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Steve Cowart of Clarkesville; granddaughter and husband, Makensie and Jesse Barrs of Mt. Airy; granddaughter, Jordan Cowart of Clarkesville; great-grandson, River Barrs; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Habersham County Animal Shelter, 4231-B, Toccoa Highway, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
