The family of Cheston Berrong Kimsey, Jr., 80, of Sautee, will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Barrett Funeral Home.

Mr. Kimsey passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

Mr. Kimsey was born Aug. 19, 1941, in Ocilla, to the late Cheston Berrong Kimsey, Sr. and Betty Candler Kimsey.  In addition to his parents, Cheston was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Gertrude Trudi Kimsey and his beloved dog, Mac.

He was a graduate of Emory with a doctorate degree in dentistry. Although he was a dentist for 55 years, don't call him doctor. Cheston's true passion was his company that he founded, ICEBREAKER, Inc. Hunting Apparel and ICEBREAKER Boot Blanket, which he invented. He loved being in the great outdoors, whether it was cutting trees with a Stihl chainsaw or planting and moving ferns.  Being that he loved Fridays and hated Mondays, we could say that now every day is a Friday for Cheston. Family tradition is important and he enjoyed the family deer hunt the week of Thanksgiving each year.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Oaks at Scenic View for their exceptional care and compassion.

Survivors include his children, Berrong Kimsey (Lori), Greg Kimsey (Gail), and Keith Kimsey (Adriana); mother of his children, Barbara Schaeffer; grandchildren, Tonya Fowler (Jason), Chris Kimsey (Cydia), Candler Kimsey, Karson Kimsey, Cameron Kimsey, Ashley Kimsey, Alec Kimsey, and Amber Kimsey; great-grandchildren, Phoebe Fowler, Griffin Fowler, Isabella Kimsey, and Luca Kimsey; brother, Bill Kimsey (Linda); sister, Alice Moulton; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital at stjude.org/donate.
