Private family services for Clara "Sue" Puett Greene, 95, of Clarkesville, will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Greene went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born Nov. 18, 1925, in Towns County, she was a daughter of the late James McKinley and Mary Leona Jackson Puett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Jeffery Todd Greene; brothers, Herman "Bill" Puett, Horace Puett, J.M. "Jimmy" Puett, and Raymond Puett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elinore and Jay White; Margie and Alvie Smith; and brother-in-law, Tony Hyten.
Sue was a homemaker and a member of the Clarkesville United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cultivating her wide collection of native plants, cooking, and exploring her beloved Blue Ridge Mountains. Most of all, Sue loved taking care of her extended family.
Survivors include her children, Kenneth B. and Anne Kelly Greene, and David S. and Mya Greene, all of Clarkesville, Timothy "Tim" D. and Brenda Greene of Cornelia, and Richard L. and Shelia Greene of Clarkesville; granddaughters, Ashlee Greene of Clarkesville, Katie (Reegan) Emslie of Shelly Beach of Queensland, Australia, Kelsey Greene and Alyssa Greene, both of Clarkesville; grandsons, Nick Greene of Clarkesville, Travis (Lisa) Duff of Cumming, and Jack and Trey Greene of Clarkesville; great-grandchildren, Ethan Greene, Charlie Greene, Ayla Emslie, and Eden Emslie; sisters, Veta Lee Hyten of Pontiac, Michigan, and Becky (Roger) Garrett of Murphy, North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
