Funeral services for Clarence "Oogie" Wiley Gunn, 74, of Cornelia, were held Monday, Dec. 28, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gunn went to his heavenly home Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. 

Born Sept. 12, 1946, to the late George Washington and Clara Belle Miller Gunn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Gunn, and Glenn Gunn. He was the last of his immediate family. 

Mr. Gunn had worked at Ethicon, The Northeast Georgian Newspaper, and Fieldale Farms throughout the years. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Gunn was known to his grandchildren as "Papa Oogie." He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Gunn loved to spend time outdoors doing things like hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an avid NASCAR fan. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Gay Nell Caudell Gunn, of Cornelia; daughters, Trina Wilson, Vicki Gunn, Lisa Gunn, and Tonia Bodiford; son, Ronald Gunn; grandchildren, Matthew Wilson, Joshua Wilson, Kayla Lawhorn, Nicole Barrett, Kristin Edwards, Cody Eller, and  Kenzielynn Bodiford; six great-grandchildren. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Baldwin.
