Born July 16, 1921, in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Woodbury Warnell and Colleen Coe McCrea. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, of over 50 years, Leon F. Parr Sr.; and a daughter, Margaret Parr Ballard of Cornelia.

Colleen grew up in the East Lake community of Atlanta. She attended Girls High and met some girls that would become lifelong friends. They formed a club called J.U.G. (Just Us Girls) club. They met monthly until recent years. Colleen was the last surviving member.

Colleen met her husband at a "U.S.O." dance. After WWII they married and raised four children and settled in East Lake where she grew up. Her children attended the same elementary school that she did.

Mrs. Parr lived in Habersham County for over 40 years, prior to living in Decatur. She was days away from celebrating her 100th birthday. She was a homemaker and was a member of Grace Calvary Episcopal Church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing bingo, visiting with friends and watching the Atlanta Braves on television.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and David Rollins of Marietta; sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Janet Parr of Cornelia, and Woody Parr and Pat Justus of Tallulah Falls. She had seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.  `An online guest register is available and may be viewed at mcgaheegriffinandstewart.com.
