Funeral services for Daisy Elizabeth Tallent Sanders, 86, of Mt. Airy, were held Sunday, Dec. 26, at Hillside Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Billy Burrell and the Rev. Scott Collett officiated.
Mrs. Sanders went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2021.
Born Dec. 2, 1935, in Franklin, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Henry Tallent and the late Dora Jones Keener Tallent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Sanders; daughter-in-law, Connie Sanders; half-brother, Jimmy Keener; and sister, Betty Jo Tallent Nelms.
Daisy retired from Piedmont Automotive with over 20 years of dedicated service. In her spare time, she enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning as well as spending winters in Florida.
Survivors include her son, Gary Sanders of Mt. Airy; daughter, Linda Sue Sanders of Alto; sisters, Cora Lee Tallent Scott of Franklin, North Carolina, and Barbara Tallent Mashburn of Asheville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Travis A. and Cassie Sanders, and Tracey and Chad Giles; great-grandchildren, Tori Giles, Tyler Giles, and Austin Giles; great-great-grandchildren, Emma Ayers and Alex Ayers; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
