Funeral services for Delphia "Dee" Charles, 72, of Turnerville, were held Friday, Dec. 17, at Mount Zion Baptist Church. The Rev. Tim Holcomb and the Rev. Gary Greer officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Charles went to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 13, 2021.
Born Sept. 26, 1949, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Eli and Mary Petitt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Charles was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Cochran; brother, Garrison Petitt; and sister, Diane Petitt.
Mrs. Charles was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She worked as a real estate agent for 28 years with The Norton Agency.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Gary B. Charles of Turnerville; son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Jennifer Cochran of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Farrell and Dolly Petitt of Demorest; niece, Christy Petitt of Demorest; stepson, Anthony Charles of Texas; three step-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements were entrusted to Whitfield Funeral Home and Crematory, North Chapel, Demorest.
