A gathering to remember Donald Alvin Nellesen, 63, of Clarkesville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville. His wishes were to be cremated. Wear jeans if you like, Don always did. It is not about the attire - it is about the man who made us all smile and laugh.
Mr. Nellesen passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020.
Born Nov. 26, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was a son of the late Alvin Henry and Bernice Agnes Rustige Nellesen. Don was of the Catholic Faith.
Don leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara Nellesen of Clarkesville; and his four legged "daughter" Dee, both greatly loved; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, J.R. and Jill Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah; other relatives; and friends.
Don was calmed by the music played by the therapeutic musician, Chuck Beckman while he was in the hospital. Donations may be made in his memory to Strings of Mercy, P.O. Box 2158, Cumming, GA. 30028 or stringsofmercy.org/donate.
