Memorial services for Doris Anderson Taylor, 87, of Clarkesville, were held Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. A private family burial was held prior to the service at Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery. 

Mrs. Taylor went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019. 

Born July 19, 1932, in Clarkesville, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Leona Trotter Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Hugh B. Taylor; and her brother, Homer Anderson. 

Mrs. Taylor was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was involved in several functions, including the G.A.s, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. She was also very active at Macedonia Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Taylor owned and operated Four Seasons Hair Salon in Clarkesville for nearly 30 years. Doris was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. 

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Keith Powell of Toccoa; Carol and Danny Parker of Clarkesville; sisters, Mildred Ellison of Clarkesville, Evelyn Dockery and husband James of Cornelia, and Ruth McAllister of Demorest; brother, Clifford William "Bill" Anderson of Clarkesville; sisters-in-law, Ovelle Harper of Conyers, and Katherine Anderson of Baldwin; brother-in-law, Robert Starr of Conyers; grandchildren, Leigh Ann and Jason Renner of Anderson, South Carolina, Jenny and Justin Ritcey of Toccoa, Samantha and Wesley Brown of Boiling Springs Lakes, North Carolina, and Alexandra Parker of Anderson, South Carolina; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, New Liberty Road, Clarkesville, GA 30523, or Bethlehem Baptist Church, P.O. Box 488, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
