In consideration of public health & safety, a private family service for Evelyn Free Fry, 91, of the Low Gap Community, Clarkesville, will be held.
Mrs. Fry went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020 following an extended illness.
Born Oct. 30, 1929, in the Batesville Community of Clarkesville, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Lafayette Free and Edith Morrison Free. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Osco Fry; son, Lloyd Fry; grandchildren, Zachary Fry, Sabrina Welborn and Michael Fry; brothers, Gerald Free, Kenneth Free, Vivian Free, and Vance Free; two infant brothers; sisters, Clarice Free King and Gladys Free Noblet.
Evelyn was retired from Fieldale Farms Corp. with many years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and loved spending precious time with her family. Evelyn was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her children, Boyd and Shirley Fry of Cleveland, Edith and Reed Alley of Clarkesville, Eunice and Billy Welborn of Demorest, Dwight and Sandra Fry of Cleveland, and Brenda and Doug Gosnell of Clarkesville; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
