Mrs. Barron passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021.
Born Feb. 8, 1931, in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Arlo Todd and the late Gladys Dodd Todd. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Andrew Barron; their daughter, Lois Elaine; and sisters, Helen Todd Walters Davis of Toccoa, Betty Todd Heaton of Mt. Airy, Shirley Todd Kubek of Toccoa, and Jo Todd Blankenship of Kennesaw.
Lois graduated from Clarkesville High School and was employed for many years by North Georgia Technical College. She later owned and operated her own antique businesses in Helen and Clarkesville. She assisted her husband, Willie Barron, and her son, Richard Barron in their antique car businesses, traveling with them and making many long-lasting friends across the eastern United States.
Lois loved antiques, fishing, traveling, and the strawberry patch. She was also known as a great cook and famous for her old-fashioned six-layer chocolate cake. Above all, she loved her family. She will be forever remembered for her positive outlook on life, embracing everyone she met with a smile and a welcoming spirit.
She is survived by her son, Richard Keith Barron of Mt. Airy; her brother, Ernest Verner Todd and wife Peggy of Auburn, Alabama; and her brother-in-law, William Blankenship of Kennesaw. In addition, Lois is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and their families who regarded her life as one well lived. She will be greatly missed.
