   Funeral services for Frank M. Kinney, 93, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with David Terrell officiating. Interment will follow in Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Grant Reeves Veterans Honor Guard.

  Mr. Kinney passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021.

    Born Nov. 16, 1927, in Clarkesville, he was a son of the late Marvin Kinney and Evelyn Smith Kinney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Welborn "Dot" Kinney; a son, Marvin Cecil Kinney; his brothers, Raymond, Hugh and Harvey; and his sisters, Beryle, Mildred, Irene and Pauline.

  Mr. Kinney was a self-employed brick mason and taught Masonry courses at North Georgia Technical College. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 7720. In his spare time, he loved horses and horse trading, he was an avid gardener, loved playing cards with his family and reading western books. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church.

  Surviving are his sons, Morris Kinney and Benny Kinney, both of the Hollywood Community; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Phil Ivester of the Hollywood Community, and Pam and Jerry Brooks of Clayton; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest & Eula Kinney of Mt. Airy; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
