The family Gladston Terrell Franklin Jr., 75, of Clarkesville, of will receive friends at Hillside Memorial Chapel from 5 until 8 p.m Saturday, June 27.  In consideration of public health and safety, those in attendance will need to comply with the Centers for Disease Control recommendation for social distancing.

  Mr. Franklin passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020, following complications from a stroke.

  Born Jan. 10, 1945, in Mt. Airy, he was the son of the late Gladston Terrell Franklin Sr. and the late Gussie Mae Alexander Franklin.  

  Mr. Franklin graduated from North Habersham High School in 1963, and was employed with Ralston Purina, later Fieldale Farms Inc. for over 33 years and retired as a traffic manager. He was owner and operator of F-3 Farms, a beef cattle and hay operation that he worked with his son and grandson. He was an avid outdoorsman that had hunted and fished all over the world. Mr. Franklin was also involved in the Habersham Cardiac Rehabilitation program where he enjoyed playing volleyball with many of his buddies. He was on the Habersham County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for over 20 years.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sherri Lynn Kellogg and Mike Smith of Port St. Joe Beach, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Michele Franklin Smith and Brian Smith of Moore, South Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Terrell Franklin and Valerie Franklin of Mt. Airy; sister, Eleanor Franklin Owens and husband, Wally Owens of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Casey Lawson (Melanie), Carrie Phillips (Andrew), Sheldon Smith (Angelica), Brianna Moseley (Doug), Dylan Franklin and Logan Franklin; great-grandson, James Moseley; and way, way too many friends to count.
