A private family graveside service for Grace S. Karnes, 92, of Mt. Airy, was held Sunday, June 7, at Chopped Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Karnes officiating.
Mrs. Karnes went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 6, 2020.
Born March 26, 1928, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late T.A. and Arizona Littleton Dodd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie M. Karnes; sisters, Margie Franklin and Jane Dean; brothers, Charlie James Dodd and Ben M. Dodd.
Grace was a self-employed restaurant owner and had a great love for her family. She enjoyed working with her roses and other flowers. Grace was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Pastor Jerry and Mary Karnes of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Gloretta Ramey and Dave of Cornelia; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
