Funeral services for Grady "Archie" Browning, Sr., 68, of Clarkesville, were held Monday, Feb. 28, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Franklin officiated. Interment followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Browning passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2022 at Habersham Medical Center.
Born Dec. 7, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Browning was the son of the late Barney H. and Frances David Browning. In addition to his parents Mr. Browning was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Wade Browning; a son, Jason Kent Browning, I; and brothers, Larry, Freddie, and Eddie Browning.
Mr. Browning had lived in Habersham for the past 30 years. He was retired from Fieldale Corporation and was a mason and a member of the Francis T. Hurlbert Masonic Lodge # 259 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was an accomplished Civil War enthusiast. Mr. Browning attended The Torch.
Survivors include sons, Grady A. "Bo" Browning, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida and Rocky Lee Tullis of Mt. Airy; brother, Harold Browning of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Christina Cody, Chassatie Cody, Jason Browning, II, and Emma Browning; and great-grandchildren, Brantley Cody and Camden Cody. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
