Funeral services for Howard Guy Allen, 88, of Demorest, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Trent Smith and the Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment with Masonic rites will follow the service at Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Allen passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022 following a period of declining health

Born Mar. 16, 1933, in Otto, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Eva Fry King. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Terrie Allen Willis and brothers, Gary Franklin Allen and Wayne King Allen.

Howard had 18 years of service at Clarkesville Mill, and later was a field representative for Fieldale Farms. Howard was owner and operator of Camp Creek Grocery for many years. Mr. Allen was a 50-year member of Clarkesville Masonic Lodge #325 F&AM and was the former chair of deacons, a Sunday school teacher, and faithful member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church. Howard was also a magistrate judge sworn in by Judge Gunter for 10 years.   

Survivors include wife, Lena Marie Pitts Allen of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Freida Allen of Clarkesville; son-in-law, Jack Willis of Atlantic Beach, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
