James Thomas "Jim" Granberry, 79, lately of Winterville, but a longtime resident of the Clarkesville area, passed away Feb. 13, 2022.
Born Apr. 21, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Harvey Granberry and Lena Workman Granberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William H. Granberry, Jr.
Jim served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era. His career as a mechanical engineer led him from Tennessee to Louisiana and finally to Georgia. In retirement, he became deeply involved in the north Georgia square dancing scene.
Survivors include his children, Lauren Holcomb (Mike), Michael Granberry, and Matthew Granberry (Amanda); grandchildren, Zoe and Gabriel Holcomb and Aidan and Lucy Granberry; and niece and nephew, Grace Granberry and Andrew Granberry.
