Graveside services for Jeanne D. Lowery, 79, of Macon, formerly of Cornelia, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 24, at Level Grove cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating.

Mrs. Lowery passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021.

Born Feb. 26, 1941, in Alto, she was the daughter of the late Pledger and Floyce Dodd. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by infant son, Patrick Dodd Lowery; brother, Wesley A. Dodd; in-laws, Fred and Lorene Lowery; and grandparents, Wash and Emma Nicholson. She was followed in death the next day by her son, Jimmy Lowery.

Jeanne began singing solos at church at the age of three and loved music, never missing an opportunity to sing. She graduated from interior design school in Vienna, Virginia, and carried that passion with her throughout her life. She used her talents in interior design to make her home a showplace. As a true southern lady, she opened her heart and home to everyone, and greeted them with a great big hug. Throughout her life, Jeanne and her husband called several different places home, including, Winston Salem, North Carolina, Vienna, Virginia, Cornelia, Albany, and Byron, but every place they lived, was not just a house, it was her home. Together, Jeanne and Lewis raised their son Jimmy, who gave them two precious grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and affectionately called her "Mom-Mommie." Her sweet spirit will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 63 years, Lewis Lowery; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Lowery; grandson, Trey Lowery and his wife, Shea; granddaughter, Lauren Lowery; nephew, Wes Dodd; and special cousin, Peggy Forester.
