A memorial service for Jeffrey Allen Whitecotton, 36, of Clarkesville, was held Sunday, Oct. 27, at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville.
Mr. Whitecotton passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019.
Born June 9, 1983, in Smyrna, he was the son of Brad and Dani Whitecotton. Jeff is preceded in death by grandparents, Bill and Enid Whitecotton; and great-grandparents, Earl and Mary Lee Moon, and Claude and Rella McGregor.
Jeff was a 2001 graduate of Habersham Central High School and he was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He had a passion for food and serving others and he put the two together after completing the Culinary Arts Program at North Georgia Technical College. Jeff had worked at many local restaurants and was most recently a Sous Chef at Ingles in Clarkesville. Jeff was very much a free spirit and he loved camping and the great outdoors. He loved music and the arts, had a gentle spirit and a heart of gold. Jeff also enjoyed collecting guns, something he and his dad did together for many years.
Survivors include his parents, Brad and Dani Scoggins Whitecotton of Clarkesville; sister, Mary Beth Whitecotton (Cory Scoville) and their daughter, Ella Marie Scoville of Savannah; brother Reed Whitecotton of Dunwoody; and grandparents Buddy and Edna Scoggins of Clarkesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Jeff Whitecotton Scholarship Fund for Mt. Sinai Wellness Center at Southern Bank and Trust in Clarkesville.
Arrangements were in the care of Hillside Memorial Chapel and Gardens, Clarkesville.
