Graveside services for Jerry Lamar Nunn, 73, of Clarkesville, will be held Sunday, July 3, at 3 p.m. at Hillside Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 until 3 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Nunn passed away June 28, 2022 following a brief illness.
Born May 7, 1949, in Toccoa, and was the son of the late Jack Nunn and Lounell Keesee Nunn. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Regina Barnett Nunn; granddaughter, Noell Nunn; and brother-in-law, Melvin Barnett.
He retired after more than 30 years from the Georgia Department of Corrections and then worked at Habersham Hardware for many years where he enjoyed serving the public. Jerry was an avid woodworker making furniture and toys for church family and friends and helped alongside his late wife, Regina, with the Backyard Bible Club. He was an avid Georgia football fan and a dear, sincere friend to everyone he met. He was a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church and had previously attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and Providence Baptist Church.
Jerry is survived by sons, Ashley Nunn of Clarkesville, Paul Nunn of Cleveland, and Adam (Kristen) Nunn of Montana; brother-in-law, Leroy Barnett of Newnan; sisters-in-law, Margaret Zadell and Lydia Gastley of North Carolina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
