The body of Jimmy Ray Loudermilk, 75, of Lakemont, lay in state Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Lakemont Baptist Church. A funeral service was held Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Lakemont Baptist Church with the Rev. Kyle Watts and the Rev. Jewell Gaines officiating. Burial followed the service at Rabun Memory Park Cemetery in Tiger.

  Mr. Loudermilk passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021.

    Born May 31, 1946, he was the son of the late Cecil Olin Loudermilk and the late Lillie Shirley Loudermilk. In addition to his parents, his brother, Leon Loudermilk; and one sister, Martha Loudermilk; preceded him in death.

  He was a lifelong resident of Rabun County. He was a Christian and a member of the Lakemont Baptist Church. Jimmy was a graduate of Rabun County High School Class of 1964. In his professional life he operated the Lake Rabun Cabinet Shop for many years. Jimmy served his community as a Rabun County Commissioner. He took pride in his work and enjoyed his work each day. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband.

  His survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Janie Cross Loudermilk; his son, Neil Loudermilk (Elizabeth) of Dacula; his daughter, Hope Adams (Shane) of Clarkesville; one brother, Bob Loudermilk of Lakemont; two sisters, Merietta Jones (Marshall) of Lakemont, and Lynette Patton (Randall) of Tallulah Falls; sister-in-law, Gail Lewis of St. Petersburg, Florida; four grandchildren, Grace Loudermilk, Reid Loudermilk, Jonathan Adams, and Jacob Adams.

  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jimmy's memory to Lakemont Baptist Church, P.O. Box 546, Lakemont, GA 30552.
