Graveside services for Joan Elaine West Loudermilk, 83, of Clarkesville, formerly of Mount Airy, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Hazel Creek Baptist Church cemetery with Mr. Nicolas Meister officiating.
Mrs. Loudermilk went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 21, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born Jan. 2, 1939, in Schenectady, New York, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Grace Crandal West. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Oliver Loudermilk and several siblings.
Joan worked with First National Bank for many years, Scovill Manufacturing, and retired after 31 years of dedicated service as a receptionist with Fieldale Farms Corporation. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and taking care of her animals. Most of all, Joan enjoyed precious time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. and Cyndilyn Loudermilk of Baldwin; daughter, Lori Ann Loudermilk of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Breana and Nicolas Meister of Baldwin and Shelby and Daniel Fowler of Cornelia; step-grandson, Jacob Pinion of Commerce; great-grandchildren, Kimber, Kash, and Kora Meister of Baldwin; as well as other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 22.
