Funeral services for John Eugene Loggins, 75, of Mt. Airy, are 11 a.m. Friday, July 29, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with the Rev. Austin Kelley and the Rev. Alvin Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazel Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Loggins passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022.
Born Dec. 26, 1946, in Demorest, he was a son of the late William "Bill" Loggins and Etta Lee House Loggins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Paula Bryant Loggins; brother, David Loggins; and sister, Willie Loudermilk.
Mr. Loggins enjoyed spending time with his family and farming. He was a member at Good News Baptist Church where he loved his church family.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Standridge Loggins of Mt. Airy; children and their spouses, Patricia Echols (Jeff) of Toccoa, Johnny Loggins of Cornelia, Cindy Williamson (Steven) of Mt. Airy, and Jeanie Becky Brown (Jason) of Sautee; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, James Loggins of Carnesville and Joseph Loggins of Mt. Airy; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, July 28, at the funeral home.
