Funeral services for John Robert Howard, 51, of Cornelia, were held Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Shannon Irvin and the Rev. Donald Grizzle officiated. Interment followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Howard went to his heavenly home Thursday, July 28, 2022.
Mr. Howard was born Oct. 6, 1970, in Hall County, to Donald and Kay Sexton Howard of Cornelia. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Na-Nah Loudermilk; paternal grandparents, John and Cathryn Howard; maternal grandparents, Bob and Evelyn Sexton; uncles, Bobby Sexton and Danny Sexton; brother, Randy Howard; special friend, Patrick West; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Mr. Howard was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking and fixing floral arrangements. He was employed with Hampton Inn in Cornelia. John was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. He was known for his selfless acts of kindness to anyone and everyone who came in contact with him. John was a loving father, son, brother, and friend and his most favorite thing to do was make people laugh.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sons, Logan P. Howard of Cornelia and Greyson Howard of Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa and Dale Caudell of Banks County and Lynn and Jeff Murray of Baldwin; sister, Kim Shirley and her boyfriend, Bruce Franklin of Cornelia; mother of his children, Connie Beasley of Cornelia; uncles, Terry and Susan Sexton of Dahlonega and Doug and Peggy Sexton of Mt. Airy; special cousin, Jan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel to assist the family with final expenses.
